Mountania is a simple yet powerful WordPress Blog theme, packed with all necessary features, the theme aims to provide you with all the tools necessary for your next project, with widgetized areas, page builder and support for WordPress Kirki Advanced Cusomizer, the theme offers total control of your content. It is compatible with latest version of WordPress and has all the features of a modern web design such as responsive and retina ready features.
This document covers the installation and use of this theme and reveals answers to common problems and issues - I recommend you to read this document thoroughly if you are experiencing any difficulties. Installation
Uploading and Installing Theme
Before beginning installation make sure you have a working installation of WordPress in your server, if you are ready let's proceed step by step.
1. FTP Upload
Using your FTP client, upload the non-zipped theme folder into the /wp-content/themes/ folder on your server
2. WordPress Upload
Navigate to Appearance -> Add New Themes -> Upload. Go to browse, and select the zipped theme folder. Hit “Install Now” and the theme will be uploaded and installed.
Note
Some webservers have a limitation for the maximum allowed size of files being uploaded to them and that value may be exceeded by the theme file. If that is the case you can receive an error that states:
The uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini. or Are you sure you want to do this? Please try again.
If you get any of these errors please increase the values of upload_max_filesize and post_max_size directives in your php.ini file to 20M or follow the Installation via FTP section described above.
3. Activating and Installing Plugins
Once the theme is uploaded, you need to activate it. Go to Appearance -> Themes and activate your chosen theme.
After theme activation you will be prompted to a notice asking for plugins installation. Click the option Begin installing plugins in the next screen check the first checkbox to select all the plugins and choose the option Install from the Bulk Actions
After that you need to activate the pre-installed plugins:
Kirki Cusomizer Framework
Elementor
Contact Form 7
CMB2
Flab Register Widget
Genesis Custom Blocks
Note
You do not need to use any premium plugin in our Mountania Theme. They are all free and we do not need their pro plan. Our Mountania Theme works fine with Free version
Setting up the Homepage
To setup your home page go to Settings > Reading from there choose Static Page option in the front page select box choose your home page, in the posts page select box choose your blog page. In the option blog page shows at most choose a desired number of posts per pages.
Setting up menus
Mountania Theme has one menu where you define the navigations links for your website in header.
Menu 1 (Primary Menu)
Create your menu navigating to Appearance > Menus, from here click in the option create a new menu add the items you want, then check the desired menu location under the Menu Settings option, the image below explains the process:
Importing Demo Content
With the theme installed and all the plugins in place it is time to import all the demo content including widgets, let's proceed step by step below.
1. Importing Content
Importing the demo content is the best way to get started with website without extra effort in creating content. In order to import the Mountania demo content proceed this way: Browse to your WordPress Dashboard and click Tools > Import in the list of import tools choose the WordPress option
After installing and activating the WordPress Importer choose the mountania.WordPress.yyyy-mm-dd.xml you find in your download package from ThemeForest in the folder demo/ click the button Upload file and import
Wait the upload process and check the option Download and import file attachments then click the submit button
2. If importing fails
If the import stalls and fails to respond after a few minutes You are suffering from PHP configuration limits that are set too low to complete the process. You should contact your hosting provider and ask them to increase those limits to a minimum as follows:
max_execution_time 600
memory_limit 128M
post_max_size 32M
upload_max_filesize 32M
You can verify your PHP configuration limits by installing a simple plugin found here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-php-info. And you can also check your PHP error logs to see the exact error being returned.
3. Importing Widgets
Warning
Before making this step make sure you have installed the Widget Importer and Exporter plugin in the steps above
Besides the regular demo content is also important to import the widgets if you intend to have an exact copy of our demo. In the WordPress Dashboard go to Tools > Widget Importer & Exporter then choose the file mountania-widgets.wie inside the folder Assets/widgets from the ThemeForest downloaded package then click the option Import Widgets
Plugins Customization
Here we will go step by step explaining how to create and use contact form 7 plugin, how to edit google map location & how to create inner pages with free elementor page builder.
1. Contact Form 7
After you have successfully installed and activated our required plugins (see this documentation 2.3). In the admin panel you have contact menu. There is option Contact form who show the existings contact form. it is our contact form imported from our demo, you can use it simply by copping the shortcode and place it where you want in the theme.
If you want to use our contact form like we used with our contact inner page created with elementor you simple copy the shortcode and place in the shortcode text area of elementor. See image below.
If you want to create a new form, in WordPress Admin panel choose Contact -> Add new There you have option add a title name of your form. And in form aread add you fields you want to add in your form. If you are not so familiar with contact form 7, see the option Editing form template link, there you can read documentation of this plugin on how to create contact form in depth.
2. Google Maps
We have created google map with elementor pagebuilder free version. You have simply to go in contact page and choose option edit with elementor. After clicking on this option you will go to elementor live pagebuilder. Simply click in the google map and in the left side you will see the edit option for google map. In location area add your address location and at the end save it by clicking at the bottom update button
3. Elementor inner pages
Go in WordPress Admin Panel and choose in menu option pages. You will see in a table all pages created, If you want to edit just hover in any page and will see options to edit, delete or edit with elementor if page is builded with elementor. Because we used elementor pagebuilder all innerpages and home pages are created with elementor, except posts page. If you want to create a new page you simple have to choose at the top Add New.
After you click on add new page you will see the screen below. In add title field add title of page, choose a header & footer style layout you want, at the right sidebar at template option select Mountania Template and click publish at top right corner. After publishing Click Edit with Elementor.
